UPNVJ and the MPR RI Instill Pancasila Values in 250 Academics

UPNVJ Public Relations — The Veteran National Development University (UPNVJ) in collaboration with the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) and Resonansi held a National Seminar on National Insight and Socialization of the Four Pillars of the MPR RI at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. The event, attended by approximately 250 participants from the academic community and student representatives, aimed to strengthen the understanding and application of national values in the university environment.

UPNVJ Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm, said that the values contained in the Four Pillars of the MPR RI must be internalized and implemented as the foundation of life in society, the nation, and the state.

"The song we sang together embodies the values of the Four Pillars, the foundation of the nation. The socialization of the Four Pillars must be a space that truly brings these values to life," said Prof. Venus at the opening of the event.

He emphasized that strengthening national identity is increasingly crucial amidst global developments and the internationalization of higher education. He believes that progress and openness to the world must go hand in hand with a commitment to maintaining Indonesian unity.

"In this era of internationalization, the nation will remain strong if we work together consistently to maintain unity and believe that the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) is undeniable. The presence of the speakers today is expected to further strengthen our commitment to implementing these values in our daily lives," he said.

Secretary of the Golkar Party Faction of the MPR RI, Ferdiansyah, SE, MM, then delivered material on the Four Pillars of the MPR RI which include Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

Ferdiansyah emphasized that understanding these four pillars must be translated into concrete actions. Implementing national values is considered a crucial foundation for maintaining unity, strengthening national character, and addressing various social changes.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Golkar Party Faction of the Indonesian House of Representatives, M. Sarmuji, SE, M.Si., was present as a keynote speaker with the theme "Pancasila is not grounded, but grown".

In his presentation, Sarmuji emphasized that Pancasila cannot simply be conveyed through outreach activities. Its values must be continuously cultivated through exemplary behavior and concrete practices in social, national, and state life.

The holding of this national seminar is part of UPNVJ's commitment as a National Defense Campus in strengthening the national character of its academic community.

Through education, dialogue, and role models, UPNVJ encourages students to be able to keep up with global developments without losing their identity, unity, and responsibility as Indonesian citizens.
