UPNVJ Public Relations — The Faculty of Law of the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (FH UPNVJ) provided 556 new students through the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) FH UPNVJ 2026 with academic foundations, integrity, legal competency, technological literacy, career development, and an understanding of a safe campus environment. The series of briefings was designed as an entry point for students to become familiar with the legal education system while also preparing themselves for changes in the legal profession that are increasingly influenced by technological developments and global needs.
Dean of the Faculty of Law at UPNVJ, Dr. Suherman, SH, LL.M., places character building as one of the foundations of students' journeys during their legal education. In addition to mastering academic knowledge, students are required to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, adaptation, leadership, and responsibility skills. "Study diligently, work patiently, dare to dream, and never lose your integrity," he advised new students.
This training is relevant to changes in the legal world, which no longer solely requires an understanding of laws and regulations. The UPNVJ Faculty of Law Undergraduate Law Study Program, for example, specializes in Information Technology Law, with courses covering Information Technology Law, Law and Artificial Intelligence, and Financial Technology Law. This study program has achieved an Excellent rating based on BAN-PT Decree No. 6771/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/S/VI/2025.
The learning process is also directed so that students do not become passive recipients of material. The Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business Law programs implement an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach, Project-Based Learning, the Case Method, and Student-Centered Learning. Students are introduced to moot courts, research, internships, legal debate and essay competitions, and case-based learning to hone their ability to apply theory to real-world problems.
The Faculty of Law (FH) at UPNVJ also strengthens students' orientation towards developments in the business world. Through the Undergraduate Business Law Study Program, students are introduced to the integration of legal science with the dynamics of business, technology, and sustainable development. Launched in 2025, the study program offers a concentration in Intellectual Property and Sustainable Legal Development, providing learning opportunities in the digital economy, intellectual property protection, environmental law, the green economy, and social inclusion.
Beyond the classroom, the UPNVJ Faculty of Law's PKKMB (FH PKKMB) also introduces various student development pathways through organizations, competitions, alumni networks, collaborations, and internationalization programs. The faculty offers opportunities for student mobility to several countries, including Malaysia, Thailand, and Kazakhstan, as well as activities with international partners. This approach aims to ensure that students' educational experiences encompass academic development, leadership, networking, and global competitiveness.
Security and respect for human dignity are also important aspects of the training. The Faculty of Law (FH) of UPNVJ presented AKBP Ema Rahmawati, SIK from the Directorate of Child Protection, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection (Dittipid PPA) and PPO to provide an understanding of the role of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in preventing and handling sexual violence in higher education. Students were provided with an understanding of the forms of sexual violence, legal basis, handling mechanisms, victim protection, and the importance of academic community participation in creating a safe and respectful campus environment.
The PKKMB series demonstrates that the introduction to campus life at the UPNVJ Faculty of Law goes beyond administrative information. Students are guided from the outset to understand the academic journey, career options, developments in legal technology, international opportunities, ethics, and social responsibilities as prospective law graduates. The UPNVJ Faculty of Law introduces a variety of career prospects, from judges, prosecutors, investigators, advocates, corporate legal practitioners, mediators, arbitrators, contract drafters, legislative drafters, legal analysts, researchers, and legal counselors.
The provision at the faculty level also continues the direction of the 2026 UPNVJ PKKMB which carries the spirit of "Young People with Character to Defend the Nation, Real Impact for the Nation." UPNVJ Chancellor **Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm. places education not only as a path to achieving academic success, but also as a process of forming students with character, competence, and the ability to make an impact on society. Through this foundation, 556 new UPNVJ FH students are expected to grow into legal professionals who are not only adept at reading regulations, but also have integrity, social sensitivity, adaptability, and the courage to use their knowledge to safeguard justice and the public interest.
