Through "Vidya Yudha," PKKMB FEB UPNVJ Instills Character and Career Readiness in New Students

Public Relations of UPNVJ – The Faculty of Economics and Business of the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (FEB UPNVJ) provided around 1,200 new students with an Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) FEB UPNVJ 2026 at the Cijantung Command Hall, East Jakarta, Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Carrying the title “Vidya Yudha” with the theme “Growing with Struggle, Preparing for the Future”, the activity became the first door for students to get to know academic life while preparing their competencies, character, and readiness to face changes in the world of work.

Dr. Jubaedah, SE, MM, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UPNVJ, considers the college period a crucial phase in developing students' capacities. Success during higher education is not solely measured by academic achievement, but also by adaptability, perseverance, integrity, and a willingness to continue learning.

This spirit is translated into "Vidya Yudha," an invitation to new students to view higher education as a growth process that requires consistency and effort. Students are encouraged to recognize their potential early on, develop their capacities, and prepare for competition and change at the national and global levels.

The FEB PKKMB also provided an understanding of the faculty's academic ecosystem. The Dean and the vice deans outlined the vision, mission, governance, and development direction of FEB UPNVJ. Students then gained an introduction to the academic fields of the Management, Accounting, and Economics Departments, including information on the curriculum, faculty, competency development, and professional certifications that can support their academic journey.

The briefing didn't stop with an internal campus introduction. New students also gained perspectives from various sectors through external speakers. Bank Indonesia representative Arry Priyanto introduced macroeconomic developments and the role of central banks, among other things. Meanwhile, Hari Jefri Vernando, SE, Head of Student Organizations at the Ministry of Education and Culture, provided an understanding of regulations and student organization life.

A food policy perspective was also presented by Bona Kusuma, ST, ME, Assistant Deputy for Management of Agricultural Production Facilities and Infrastructure at the Coordinating Ministry for Food. The series of activities also featured a session on creativity and self-development with Rico Lubis, as well as an educational session with Sandy from Ruangguru. The presence of speakers across various fields provided students with an understanding that future competencies require a connection between academic knowledge, economic development, technology, public policy, creativity, and the needs of the workplace.

Students also received an introduction to UPNVJ Library services as part of efforts to build a culture of independent learning and academic literacy from the first semester. Interactive discussion sessions also provided a space for new students to practice asking questions, build communication skills, and develop critical thinking.

This faculty-level PKKMB continues the briefing of the UPNVJ 2026 PKKMB which was previously held on August 10–11 at the Tennis Indoor Stadium Senayan. At the university level, UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm. emphasized that higher education is not only oriented towards academic success, but also forms students with character, integrity, discipline, responsibility, and the ability to use knowledge to benefit society.

Thus, the PKKMB FEB UPNVJ is part of the university's ongoing policy of translating the National Defense Campus identity into the student education process. The spirit of "Growing with Struggle, Preparing for the Future" is aimed at ensuring that new students are not merely able to adapt to lectures but also develop into competent, adaptive, and integrated academic individuals who are ready to make a real impact on society and the nation.
