Public Relations of UPNVJ — The Faculty of Computer Science of the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (FIK UPNVJ) equipped 568 new students to grow as digital patriots, namely a generation that not only masters technology, but also has the character of National Defense, integrity, the ability to collaborate, and social responsibility. This provision was the focus of the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) FIK UPNVJ Academic Year 2026/2027 which began at the PPSDM Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Parung, Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
The FIK PKKMB is a continuation of the development after 4,612 new UPNVJ students completed the university-level PKKMB series on August 10–11, 2026, at the Tennis Indoor Stadium Senayan, Jakarta. At the closing of the university-level activities, UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm. handed over the new students to the deans to continue the introduction and development according to the scientific character of their respective faculties.
At the Faculty of Nursing (FIK) level, activities began with registration, an opening ceremony, the recitation of the PKKMB pledge, and a handover of new students from the Faculty of Nursing Dean to the Capacity Building Team. This series was designed to provide students with an introduction to the academic environment, lecture management, campus culture, and the values that define UPNVJ as a National Defense Campus.
Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) at UPNVJ, Prof. Dr. Ir. Supriyanto, ST, M.Sc., IPM, emphasized that the values of National Defense need to be translated into students' daily behavior. These values are reflected, among other things, through discipline, responsibility, concern for others, the ability to work together, and an awareness of the responsible use of science and technology.
In the context of increasingly rapid technological development, the Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) encourages new students to become digital patriots. Students are expected to not only be users of technology but also to be able to create innovations and utilize their computer science competencies to produce solutions that benefit society. Collaboration skills are also crucial, as technological development increasingly requires interdisciplinary synergy and teamwork.
The student briefing includes an introduction to the faculty's vision and mission, academics, administration and finance, campus culture, student exchange programs, university collaborations, and talent development through Student Study Groups (KSM). Student organizations are also introduced through presentations by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences' Student Executive Board (BEM FIK) and inter-organizational dialogues, providing students with opportunities to develop leadership, networking, and teamwork skills.
The entrepreneurial dimension is also reinforced through the "International Opportunities for Digital Entrepreneurs" course, which discusses building a digital business based on international projects. This training opens students' perspectives on how technological competencies can be developed into innovations, products, and entrepreneurial activities that have economic value and global competitiveness.
The direction of this development is in line with the spirit of the 2026 UPNVJ PKKMB with the theme "Young People with National Defense Character, Real Impact for the Nation." UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm. places the college period as a space for students to build competency, integrity, experience, networks, and National Defense character so that the knowledge gained can be translated into real contributions to society.
Through the 2026 FIK UPNVJ PKKMB (Family Health Education Program), 568 new students are expected to begin their academic journey with a strong foundation of character and preparedness for technological transformation. From the UPNVJ Rector's perspective, FIK students need not merely excel in technology but also ensure the digital knowledge and innovations they develop have value, responsibility, and a real impact on the nation.
