UPNVJ Public Relations – The Head of the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BNN RI), Commissioner General of Police Dr. (HC) Suyudi Ario Seto, SIK, SH, M.Si., was again present at the major agenda of the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ). In front of 4,612 new students on the first day of the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) UPNVJ 2026, Monday, August 10, 2026, Suyudi delivered material entitled “Clean Generation: Defending the Country Without Drugs” at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta.
The presence of the Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) was a crucial part of the UPNVJ new students' briefing on the challenges facing the younger generation, particularly the threat of drug abuse and trafficking. UPNVJ itself held the 2026 PKKMB (Family Recreation Program) on August 10–11 at the Tennis Indoor Senayan, featuring a number of national figures from various fields.
In his presentation, Suyudi detailed the importance of developing a drug-free generation as a concrete manifestation of national defense. This message was aimed at encouraging students not only to understand the impact of narcotics on individuals but also to see the drug problem as a threat to the quality of human resources and the future of the nation.
According to Suyudi, students hold a strategic position as an educated group expected to be part of drug abuse prevention efforts. Awareness of protecting themselves, their social circle, and their campus community is a crucial foundation for building a healthy, productive generation with resilience against various forms of drug abuse.
The Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN)'s presentation captured the attention of thousands of new students attending the first day of the PKKMB (Community Empowerment and Development) program. The topic on drugs was presented in a broader perspective, emphasizing that national defense today can be realized through responsible daily decisions, including the courage to reject drugs and protect oneself from risky environments.
Suyudi currently serves as the Head of the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (BNN) after being inaugurated on August 25, 2025. The BNN noted that he held the rank of Police Commissioner General and had a long track record in the police institution before being entrusted to lead the agency that handles the prevention and eradication of narcotics abuse and illicit trafficking.
The briefing also reinforced the message of the 2026 UPNVJ PKKMB, which carries the theme "Young People with National Defense Character, Real Impact on the Nation." Through a series of materials from national figures, new students are not only introduced to academic life, but also encouraged to understand the social and national responsibilities inherent in UPNVJ students' identity as a National Defense Campus.
For UPNVJ, drug prevention education from the beginning of the academic year is part of the effort to build a safe campus environment while also developing students with integrity. Understanding the dangers of drugs is expected to not only be limited to knowledge but also develop into awareness and attitudes that are reflected in students' lives throughout their education.
The presence of the Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) at the PKKMB also reinforced the commitment of UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., to prioritize character education and national defense values as a key component of student development.
