UPNVJ Public Relations— The Veteran National Development University (UPNVJ) Jakarta inaugurated and swore in 144 prospective civil servants (CPNS) for the 2023 and 2024 fiscal years on Monday, September 7, 2026. The inauguration took place at 9:00 a.m. WIB at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium of UPNVJ, Jakarta. The 137 participants were lecturers and seven others were administrative staff who will strengthen the university's education, research, community service, and administrative services.

The 137 lecturers inaugurated were spread across seven faculties: 29 lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business, 12 lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering, seven lecturers from the Faculty of Computer Science, 20 lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine, 36 lecturers from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, six lecturers from the Faculty of Law, and 27 lecturers from the Faculty of Health Sciences. The seven administrative staff members included one from the Faculty of Engineering, two from the Faculty of Computer Science, and four from the Bureau of Planning, Finance, and General Affairs.

The oath-taking and inauguration are not simply a change in employment status. The Civil Servant Oath is a declaration of each employee's commitment to comply with obligations, carry out duties in accordance with laws and regulations, and be accountable for their work to God Almighty, the nation, the state, and society.

UPNVJ emphasized that new civil servants understand their rights and fulfill their obligations in accordance with Law Number 20 of 2023 concerning the State Civil Apparatus and Government Regulation Number 94 of 2021 concerning Civil Servant Discipline. Integrity, discipline, responsibility, and service orientation are essential elements that must be inherent in carrying out their duties after officially becoming civil servants.

For lecturers, this status carries a professional responsibility to uphold the three pillars of higher education. They are expected to create learning processes that inspire students, produce innovative research, and present ideas and findings that can be utilized by the community. In addition to producing academic work, lecturers are also required to uphold Pancasila, maintain the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and work in accordance with applicable regulations.

Strengthening the quality of lecturers is also aimed at improving higher education performance. The inauguration document emphasizes the importance of lecturer involvement in off-campus activities, collaboration with practitioners, and producing work that is used by the community and gains international recognition. This orientation emphasizes that improving employee status requires increased contributions to the institution and the public.

Meanwhile, educational staff play a strategic role in ensuring the effective delivery of education. These duties include support for management, administration, system operations, and technical services. Professionalism among educational staff is essential to ensure that academic and non-academic services within UPNVJ are faster, more accountable, and more responsive to the needs of the academic community.

UPNVJ also emphasized that appointment as a civil servant should be the beginning of improved performance, not the opposite. New employees are encouraged to work responsibly and with dedication, build cooperation, create a comfortable work environment, and demonstrate achievements in carrying out their mandate as state officials.

The inauguration of 144 new civil servants is part of UPNVJ's human resource development program to support the improvement of higher education quality and the university's benefit to the community. In line with the leadership direction of UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA., Comm., employee capacity building is expected to lead to increasingly professional, productive, and impactful institutional performance, while maintaining the values of National Defense as the foundation for providing services to the nation and state.
