UPNVJ Public Relations – The National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) through its Student Executive Board (BEM) held the 2026 UKM Expo at the Pondok Labu Campus, South Jakarta, Saturday (September 5, 2026). Carrying the theme “Create Your Spectrum,” this activity provided a space for students, especially new students of the class of 2026, to get to know various Student Activity Units (UKM), explore their interests and talents, and determine student activities that suit their potential.

The UKM Expo series took place from morning to afternoon at several locations on the Pondok Labu Campus, including the Common Field, the Ceremony Field in front of the Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Building, Faculty of Medicine, the field in front of the Soepomo Building, the brown tile area of the Faculty of Economics and Business, and the Internet Plaza of the General Soedirman Building. The event included an UKM exhibition, booth visits, performances on the main stage, interactive sessions, and exploration time for students.

A total of 30 Student Activity Units (UKM) are listed on the UKM Expo 2026 agenda. These units operate in various fields, including arts, sports, spirituality, social and humanitarian work, leadership, media, and student networking. The presence of diverse UKMs provides a wide range of activities for students to develop their skills beyond academics.

Some of the UKMs introduced in the activity include the Green Theatre of Five One, Jakarta Veteran Pencak Silat, Nature Lovers Students (MAPALA), Student Regiment, KSR PMI Unit UPN “Veteran” Jakarta, Veteran Jakarta Esport, Veteran Jakarta Dance Arts, Gita Advayatva Student Choir, AIESEC in UPNVJ, Taekwondo Veteran Jakarta, Karate UPN Veteran Jakarta, and a number of other organizations.

The 2026 UKM Expo doesn't just showcase organizational profiles. Through a rotating visit concept, students have the opportunity to interact directly with UKM administrators, learn about their work programs and activities, and see the work, performances, and demonstrations of various student units.

The event was divided into two sets of visits. Participants participated in a mobilization session between UKM zones, a booth visit, free time and exploration sessions, and activities on the main stage. This format was designed so that students not only received information but also gained a closer look at the character of each organization before deciding which activities to participate in.

The 2026 UKM Expo Executive Chair, Najla Luqiyana Khaas, and the UPNVJ Student Executive Board (BEM) committee positioned this event as a platform for promoting and fostering student organization regeneration. The UKM Expo is expected to provide new students with broader opportunities to contribute, build relationships, gain organizational experience, and develop non-academic skills.

Strengthening student activities is also in line with the direction of UPNVJ's student organization development. UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., previously emphasized the importance of synergy, collaboration, and tangible impact in managing student organizations. At the 2026 UPNVJ student organization inauguration, the university encouraged UKM to become a productive space for developing student potential while also actualizing the values of National Defense through activities and achievements. Through the 2026 UKM Expo, UPNVJ is strengthening the student learning ecosystem beyond the classroom. Involvement in UKM is expected to be part of the process of developing students who are creative, collaborative, possess leadership qualities, demonstrate national defense skills, and are able to transform their interests and talents into tangible works and contributions to the campus and community.
