Community television owned by the Jakarta Veterans National Development University (UPNVJ) is preparing to become Streaming TV and will focus on education.
Several regulators from the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), including Central KPI Chairman Yuliandre Darwis, M.Mass.Comm., Ph.D, Assistant Commissioner for Institutional Affairs KPI Syahrullah, and Initiator of Indonesia Streaming Irwan Setiawan, visited UPNVJ to help with the idea of the plan .
KPI Assistant Commissioner for Institutional Affairs, Syahrullah said that TV Streaming could improve the quality of education and the readiness of students to face the world of work later.
"KPI as a regulator encourages this because it can improve the quality of education, as well as educate students to be more prepared in the world of work in terms of professionalism and discipline," said Syahrullah.
He also added that programs like this are also related to what the Minister of Education and Culture said about independent learning. Therefore, KPI chose UPNVJ because besides having a cooperative relationship, UPNVJ also has very good potential from its students or support from the rectorate to have its own television studio.
In addition, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Anter Venus, MA.Comm said that the university was very supportive and welcomed Indonesia Streaming.
"We at the UPNVJ rectorate are committed to being involved in it, because students can also develop their skills and be taught how to manage television professionally as with existing television. Not only that, UPNVJ also gets a special channel so that all levels of society can watch the broadcasts presented by UPNVJ," said Venus.
While matters of content will be negotiated later. However, Venus emphasized that the content is educational content, such as content that will be produced by UPNVJ faculties.
Likewise with the Dean of FISIP UPNVJ, Dr. R. Dudy Heryadi welcomed it because what KPI and Indonesia Streaming had to offer was in line with the university development policy plan.
Dudy also said that FISIP already has complete television and radio equipment, student organization resources, qualified lecturers and several collaborations with several television stations in Indonesia.
"I am very pleased with this offer, in the near future we will form a team to realize this activity, what steps to take in the future and hopefully we can open up very broad opportunities to increase the competence of female students in the field of television. he said
