Upnvj Confirms 1,328 Patriotic Graduates Ready to Contribute to the Country

Public Relations of UPNVJ – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) held its 74th Graduation Ceremony at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Saturday, April 12, 2025. A total of 1,328 graduates officially completed their education and are ready to serve the nation in accordance with the theme of this graduation, "Excellent, Patriotic, and Contributing Graduates to the Country."

UPNVJ Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA., Comm, in his speech expressed his pride in the achievements of the graduates.

"To all graduates, we congratulate you on your success in completing your studies at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta. This is an achievement to be proud of. Achievements that are not easy require commitment, perseverance, awareness and self-responsibility, and seriousness to complete all study obligations including enjoying the dynamics that occur in it," he said.

"As a UPNVJ graduate who carries the spirit of defending the country, we hope that you can be an added value for the progress of society, nation and this country. You can be part of a competent generation that is able to fill the demographic bonus which is a blessing and a gateway for Indonesia to become a developed country in 2045," continued Prof. Venus.

To the graduates, Prof. Venus also emphasized the importance of reasoning skills as the foundation of the academic community's way of thinking. This ability distinguishes campus people from the general public, because it allows logical and realistic decision-making and avoids fallacies.

Amidst disruption and flood of digital information, students, lecturers, and graduates are required to have lifelong learning skills, by continuing to learn, filter, and update knowledge. Digital literacy is also crucial to face challenges such as AI, deepfake , and the post - truth era.

Furthermore, the Chancellor highlighted the importance of innovative thinking that is born from curiosity, creativity, and the courage to take risks, as well as an entrepreneurial mindset to take advantage of digital opportunities and become job creators.

All of these values must be supported by a patriotic spirit and a spirit of defending the country so that Indonesia can grow as a developed country. UPNVJ graduates are also expected to have the courage to act, as Horatius said: “Sapere aude, audaces fortuna iuvat” – Be brave, because fortune favors the brave.

The theme of this graduation has a deep meaning. “Excellent Graduates” reflects UPNVJ’s commitment to producing students who have high academic competence, professional skills, and the ability to adapt to the times.

“Patriotic” emphasizes that every UPNVJ graduate is expected to have a strong sense of nationalism, and be able to implement national values in everyday life. While “Contributing to the Country” emphasizes the importance of the role of graduates in building the nation, either through professional careers, entrepreneurship, or community service.

UPNVJ continues to be committed to producing graduates who are not only academically superior, but also have leadership, innovation, and a sense of social responsibility. With quality education and values of struggle, graduates are expected to be agents of change in various fields.

The 74th UPNVJ graduation was attended by the university's leadership, lecturers, and families of the graduates. In addition to the inauguration procession of graduates, the event was also filled with an inspirational speech from the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd and the Karya Mahardika award for three outstanding graduates, namely Yogi Satrio Bagus (S1 Management), Hasan Yusuf (S1 Law), and Khaliza Fania (S1 Information Systems).

Through the momentum of the 74th Graduation, UPNVJ affirms its commitment to producing superior and patriotic human resources, who will continue to contribute to the progress of Indonesia.
