UPNVJ Public Relations – The 38th National Student Scientific Week (Pimnas) officially opened on November 24, 2025, at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) Makassar. This event involved 420 teams from 167 universities with more than 2,687 participants, including two teams from the Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ): Ecoscale and Naver Glasses. Carrying the theme "Transforming Indonesian Students into a Superior Generation that is Innovative, Collaborative, Character-Based, and Impactful," Pimnas is the largest student research competition in Indonesia to encourage innovation and collaboration across disciplines.
The opening of Pimnas 38 was lively with Nusantara cultural performances, official remarks, and the introduction of a mascot symbolizing the spirit of research. The Director of Learning and Student Affairs at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Dr. Beny Bandanadjaja, emphasized that Pimnas is more challenging than a regular thesis, thus the government supports the credit equivalent as a recognition of students' hard work. He described Pimnas as a real laboratory that tests creativity, analysis, and the potential for future collaboration.
The Ecoscale and Naver Glasses teams from UPNVJ advanced to the national stage after a rigorous selection process, demonstrating the university's commitment to building a scientific ecosystem. Participants will participate in a main agenda, including poster assessments and presentations, as well as side festivities including a multilingual speech competition and talent show. These activities are designed to strengthen students' character and capacity as young innovators who impact society.
UPNVJ, through its Career Development and Entrepreneurship Unit, provides full support, including funding and facilities, to accelerate the birth of innovation towards Golden Indonesia 2045. This participation expands the national research network and forms resilient lifelong learners. Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., Rector of UPNVJ, stated that participation in Pimnas is in line with the university's vision. "We are proud of Ecoscale and Naver Glasses, which represent the spirit of defending the country through research. This strengthens our policy of encouraging student achievement, creating a superior generation ready to contribute to national development based on innovation and collaboration," he said.
