UPNVJ Public Relations - Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) dispatched a Disaster Response Team to Aceh on December 8, 2025. This team responded to the disaster in the Sumatra region, with a primary focus at the Bireuen Post, to provide health services for approximately 10 days. Under the coordination of the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. dr. Ria Maria Theresa, the team was led by Field Coordinator Ikhsan and consisted of medical and nursing personnel from the UPNVJ Faculty of Health Sciences.
The team will join Syiah Kuala University to serve the affected community, including children, adults, and the elderly. The trip will take a Hercules aircraft from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, with an estimated time of 4-5 hours. Upon arrival, they will immediately coordinate with the disaster command center, the health crisis agency, and local partners before going into the field.
Donations collected to date have reached 40 million rupiah. These funds are allocated for the procurement of basic necessities, with priority given to nutritious food distributed to the community and to the post in Bireuen. This effort reinforces UPNVJ's commitment to disaster response, in line with its National Defense (Bela Negara) identity, which was implemented from 2016 to 2018 during the disasters in Lombok, Palu, and Cianjur.
Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm, Rector of UPNVJ, stated, "The deployment of this team reflects our vision of building national solidarity through concrete action. Our policy emphasizes direct contributions to community recovery, while also strengthening the value of National Defense among the academic community."
