UPNVJ Produces Global Professional Communicators Through its Internationally-Based Communication Studies Program

Public Relations of UPNVJ — The Communication Studies Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ), affirmed its commitment to producing superior and globally competitive graduates by strengthening academic quality, human resources, and industry-based facilities. This commitment was conveyed by the Coordinator of the Communication Studies Program, Uljanatunnisa, S.Sos., MA, in an interview on Wednesday (25/3) at the UPNVJ Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. This study program has achieved superior accreditation from LAMSPAK in 2026 and international accreditation from FIBAA in 2023, as a form of recognition of educational quality at the national and global levels.

The UPNVJ Communication Science Study Program has a vision of producing graduates who are superior, competent, innovative, and have a national defense identity in the fields of advertising, public relations, journalism, and media with a target of Asian competitiveness by 2030. This vision is realized through strengthening an adaptive curriculum based on the needs of the communication industry and integrating theoretical and practical learning.

In terms of academic quality, achieving superior and international accreditation is a key indicator of the study program's consistency in maintaining quality standards. This recognition positions UPNVJ's Communication Studies program as a study program that not only meets national standards but is also capable of competing globally.

This quality is supported by competent human resources. Currently, 55.8 percent of lecturers hold doctoral degrees, 81.3 percent hold national teacher certifications, and 79 percent hold professional competency certifications. This composition strengthens the learning process, which is relevant to the dynamic developments in the communications industry.

Furthermore, learning is enhanced through industry-based laboratory facilities, such as television, radio, photography, big data, multimedia, cinematography, and podcast labs. These facilities are designed to enhance students' skills in content production, communication data analysis, and digital technology proficiency.

Consistency in maintaining quality makes the Communication Science Study Program one of the study programs with the highest level of interest at UPNVJ in 2026. The high interest of prospective students reflects public trust in the quality of education offered.

The prospects for UPNVJ Communication Science graduates are broad, ranging from communication officers and communication strategy designers in marketing, journalism, advertising, public relations, and development communications. Graduates are also equipped with the skills to become communication analysts, capable of managing and analyzing data-based communication processes and digital platforms.

The Communication Studies Program Coordinator, Uljanatunnisa, emphasized that the program's combination of academic quality, professional teaching staff, and modern facilities are its main strengths. "The UPN Veteran Jakarta Communication Studies Program is the right choice for prospective students who want to develop their potential and build a career in the global communications industry," she said.
