UPNVJ Holds 2026 National Education Day Ceremony, Affirming Commitment to Quality Education for All

UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) held a National Education Day or Hardiknas 2026 Commemoration Ceremony at the UPNVJ Pondok Labu Ceremony Field on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Approximately 200 participants, including lecturers, education staff, and students, attended the event. The ceremony served as a momentum to strengthen UPNVJ's commitment to supporting higher education that is high-quality, inclusive, and relevant to the needs of the times.

The ceremony took place solemnly, with a strong sense of national pride. UPNVJ's Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Netti Herawati, M.Sc., officiated. She delivered a speech by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia commemorating National Education Day 2026.

The speech emphasized that education is the heart of civilization, determining the future direction of the nation. Amid global challenges, ranging from digital disruption, the climate crisis, social inequality, and the development of artificial intelligence, education is seen as a strategic path to building an adaptive, competitive, and equitable nation.

The 2026 National Education Day commemoration carries the theme "Strengthening Universal Participation to Achieve Quality Education for All." This theme emphasizes the importance of involving all elements of the nation in strengthening the education ecosystem, including universities, the government, the business world, the community, and the academic community.

Through this theme, educational transformation is directed at three main pillars. First, expanding access to inclusive education so that more people have the opportunity to learn. Second, strengthening collaboration between universities and various sectors to address development needs. Third, developing research that is not only academically superior but also has a real impact on society.

The government is also encouraging the birth of world-class scientists through various strategic programs, including the Indonesia Road to Nobel Laureate 2045. This program is part of an effort to strengthen the higher education, science, and technology ecosystem towards Golden Indonesia 2045.

At UPNVJ, the National Education Day commemoration is not only a ceremonial event, but also a space for reflection for the academic community to strengthen the campus's role in educating the nation. The raising of the Red and White flag and the singing of the National Education Day anthem added to the emotional and solemn atmosphere, while also igniting the spirit of nationalism among the ceremony participants.

Through the momentum of National Education Day 2026, UPNVJ affirms its commitment to continue providing quality, inclusive, and impactful higher education.

Happy National Education Day 2026. UPNVJ continues to strive for quality, inclusive, and impactful Indonesian education for all.
