UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) strengthened the understanding of student organization administrators regarding student affairs policies and governance through the 2026 Student Management Skills Training (PKMM). The activity, which took place at the Merce Building, UPNVJ Limo Campus, Depok, Wednesday (10/6/2026), discussed organizational development mechanisms, achievement development, program implementation, and compliance with university regulations. This provision is expected to encourage student activities that are orderly, accountable, productive, and in line with UPNVJ's vision.
The Head of the UPNVJ Bureau of Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation (AKK), Dr. Asropi, SIP, M.Sc. , was present as a resource person and delivered material entitled "Socialization of the Student Affairs Sector." The positions and name spelling are in accordance with the organizational structure of the UPNVJ AKK Bureau.
Different from the sessions that focused on improving organizational managerial capabilities, this material emphasized participants' understanding of the systems, services, and policies that form the basis for organizing student activities at UPNVJ.
Participants received explanations regarding student organization development, student achievement development, program management, and procedures for conducting activities in accordance with university regulations. This understanding is necessary for organizational administrators to develop and implement programs in a focused manner and to be accountable for each activity.
Asropi emphasized that student organizations need not simply actively organize various programs. Each activity must also be well-planned, implemented in an orderly manner, and adhere to the principles of transparency and accountability.
"Students, as the driving force behind organizations, need to understand the applicable rules and systems so that every program they implement can provide optimal benefits and support the creation of a healthy and productive student climate," said Asropi.
According to him, understanding regulations can help organizational administrators avoid administrative errors and obstacles in program implementation. Compliance with university regulations is also part of students' responsibility to maintain the trust of the institution and all organizational members.
In addition to understanding their obligations, participants received information about student rights to services, guidance, mentoring, and activity facilitation. UPNVJ's student affairs department continues to support student development through programs that enhance both academic and non-academic competencies.
This support includes organizational development, facilitating the development of interests and talents, enhancing achievement, and strengthening leadership capacity. Through a targeted mentoring system, student organizations are expected to develop programs that are relevant to student needs and provide benefits to the campus and community.
Asropi also emphasized the importance of building coordination between student organizations and relevant work units. Communication from the planning stage is essential to ensure programs are implemented according to procedures, utilize resources appropriately, and have measurable success indicators.
Through this outreach session, PKMM 2026 participants are expected to not only understand administrative regulations but also understand the objectives of each policy. This way, regulations are not viewed as a barrier to creativity, but rather as guidelines to ensure the organization's programs run safely, orderly, transparently, and deliver tangible impact.
Understanding policies also serves as a foundation for organizational management in building a professional work culture. This can be achieved through clear division of tasks, orderly document filing, responsible budget management, and regular program evaluations.
The implementation of PKMM 2026 is a strategic step by UPNVJ to strengthen synergy between students and the institution. This synergy is necessary to ensure that organizational activities do not operate in isolation but are part of the student development process and the achievement of the university's goals.
