UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) officially received the Decree for the opening of the Logistics Engineering Undergraduate Study Program from the Higher Education Service Institute (LLDIKTI) Region III at the LLDIKTI Region III Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (28/7/2026). The opening of the study program under the UPNVJ Faculty of Engineering is a strategic step for the university in preparing professional talent capable of responding to developments in the logistics, supply chain, transportation, warehousing, and digital transformation industries.
The decision letter was symbolically handed over by representatives of LLDIKTI Region III to representatives of UPNVJ in the agenda of handing over the decision on the opening and changes to higher education institutions as well as the opening and closing of study programs within LLDIKTI Region III.
The receipt of this decree marks a significant milestone in the academic development of UPNVJ's Faculty of Engineering. The establishment of the Logistics Engineering Study Program also strengthens UPNVJ's contribution to providing human resources with competencies that meet the needs of the business and industrial world.
The logistics industry requires professionals who not only understand the distribution process but also are able to design, manage, and evaluate logistics systems efficiently, integrated, adaptively, and sustainably. These competencies are increasingly important with the growth of the manufacturing, e-commerce, delivery, transportation, and warehousing sectors, as well as national infrastructure development.
The UPNVJ Logistics Engineering Study Program will prepare students with skills in logistics system design, supply chain management, transportation, warehousing, distribution, and the use of digital technology. Students will also be equipped with technical, analytical, managerial, and leadership competencies to meet changing industry needs.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UPNVJ, Dr.Eng. Ir. Teguh Firmansyah, ST, MT, IPM., stated that the issuance of the decree was the result of the commitment and hard work of the Faculty of Engineering's academic community in preparing quality study programs that are relevant to industrial developments.
"The acceptance of the Logistics Engineering Study Program Decree represents a strategic step by the Faculty of Engineering at UPN Veteran Jakarta to expand its contribution to the development of higher education that is adaptive to industry needs. We are committed to providing a learning process oriented towards technology mastery, strengthening logistics engineering competencies, and close collaboration with the business and industrial worlds," said Teguh.
He hopes the Logistics Engineering Study Program will produce graduates with academic and professional competence and leadership qualities of integrity. These graduates are expected to support the strengthening of the national logistics system and increase Indonesia's competitiveness globally.
To achieve these goals, the learning process will be developed through a practice-based approach, applied research, case studies, and industrial problem-solving. The UPNVJ Faculty of Engineering will also strengthen collaborations with the government, state-owned enterprises, private companies, professional associations, and international institutions.
The collaboration will focus on developing a curriculum that is responsive to industry needs, implementing internships, conducting joint research, engaging practitioners in learning, and developing innovations in logistics and supply chains.
The Logistics Engineering Study Program is also expected to become a center for the development of science, research, and innovation in the fields of intelligent logistics, sustainable logistics, and the use of technologies such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, big data, and logistics information systems. This development is necessary to generate solutions to various distribution and supply chain challenges in Indonesia.
By establishing the Logistics Engineering Study Program, UPNVJ affirms its commitment to providing relevant, innovative, and impactful higher education. The program is expected to produce industry-ready talent who are adaptable to technological developments and able to contribute to building an efficient, resilient, and competitive national logistics ecosystem.
