UPNVJ UKM Expo 2025 Festival Introduces UKM and BSO to Thousands of New Students

UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) held the 2025 UKM Expo Festival on Sunday, September 7, 2025, to introduce new students to their Student Activity Units (UKM) and Semi-Autonomous Bodies (BSO). More than 3,000 new students participated in the event, aiming to introduce various UKMs and provide a platform for exploring interests and talents during their studies.

The festival, held on the UPNVJ campus, featured 30 UKM booths showcasing a variety of activities, from arts and sports to self-development. Furthermore, the event was divided into three main zones to create a more interactive experience: the UKM Booth Area, the Sponsor Area, and the Food and Beverage (F&B) Area. Unlike previous years, which relied on a single main stage, this year's event featured three mini stages to accommodate various activities.

The series of activities included art performances, quizzes, interactive games, and mini-talk shows designed to encourage new students to express their passions, interests, and identities through student activity units (UKM). "This UKM Expo is not just an introduction, but also an opportunity for students to gain clear information about UKM and BSO programs, so they can choose activities that align with their interests," said one of the committee members.

On the occasion, UPNVJ's Vice Rector III for Cooperation and Student Affairs, Dr. dr. Ria Maria Theresa, SpKJ, MH, emphasized the importance of early introduction to organizations for new students. Interviewed during the event, she stated, "Introduction to organizations through UKM and BSO like this is the beginning to build leadership and entrepreneurial spirit. New students can learn   "How to collaborate, manage time, and develop soft skills. This festival serves as a gateway for them to dive directly into campus organizations."

As a state university that emphasizes the development of competency- and character-oriented human resources, UPNVJ regularly holds orientation activities like this to form an excellent campus community.   This festival is expected to encourage the involvement of new students to develop soft skills and professional networks throughout their studies at UPNJ.
